Calling all IC students! The Downtown Ithaca Alliance is proud to announce that its annual Welcome Student Weekend will be held on Saturday, September 9, from 12:00-5:00 p.m. This annual event celebrates the return of students for the fall semester and offers opportunities for students to explore and connect with the vibrant local community.
This year’s event will have a twist as all three local schools (Ithaca College, Cornell, Tompkins County Community College) will have representation for an afternoon filled with fun events and activities.
Featured Events
- 1:00-5:00 PM | Downtown Scavenger Hunt with prizes from over 20 participating local businesses
- 1:00 PM | History of Ithaca Commons Walking Tour (Approx. 70 minutes)
- 1:20-1:35 PM | Musical Performance by Ithaca College’s Ithacappella
- 2:00 PM | Welcome Remarks from Ithaca College President La Jerne Terry Cornish
- 3:00 PM | History of the Ithaca Commons Walking Tour (Approx. 70 minutes)
- 3:15-3:30 PM | Musical Performance from Ithaca College’s Premium Blend
*There will be additional performances and speakers from Cornell and TC3*
Transportation
TCAT will be offering free transportation between the Ithaca College campus and the Ithaca Commons. Please refer to TCAT’s Fall Schedule for Route 11, which services the Ithaca College campus.
Additional transportation will be provided by OurBus, which will be running a loop between the Roy H. Park School of Communications and the Ithaca Commons on 30-minute intervals during the event.
Departure times from the Park School of Communications include:
11:45 AM, 12:15 PM, 12:45 PM, 1:15 PM, 1:45 PM, 2:15 PM, 2:45 PM, 3:15 PM, and 3:45 PM
Return loops from the Ithaca Commons back to the Ithaca College campus include:
12:30 PM, 1:00 PM, 1:30 PM, 2:00 PM, 2:30 PM, 3:00 PM, 3:30 PM, 4:00 PM, 4:30 PM, and 5:00 PM
