Secure Testing Sub-committee
The Educational Technology Advisory Committee (ETAC) is soliciting nominations for participation in an ETAC subgroup that would review secure testing solutions that work within Canvas. Some faculty on campus have expressed an interest in technologies that would, for example, lockdown browsers and/or provide remote proctoring during Canvas tests to allow for enhanced security and compatibility with our standards of academic integrity. We are looking for a few faculty members to serve an anticipated one-semester term on this subcommittee.
We expect that this review process will entail:
- Determining the campus-wide need for these secure testing solutions
- Exploring possible solutions and compatibility with Canvas
- Identifying individuals to perform a pilot test
- Providing a ranking of possible campus-wide solutions that are accessible to all students by early December (to fit into the campus budget timeline)
Student Response Systems Sub-committee
The Educational Technology Advisory Committee (ETAC) is soliciting nominations for participation in an ETAC subgroup that would review student response systems that work within Canvas. Some faculty on campus have expressed an interest in technologies that could, for example, easily take attendance and/or administer just-in-time multiple-choice questions to their large enrollment courses with zero cost to the student. We are looking for a few faculty members to serve an anticipated one-semester term on this subcommittee.
We expect that this review process will entail:
- Determining the campus-wide need for student response system solutions
- Exploring possible solutions and compatibility with Canvas
- Identifying individuals to perform a pilot test
- Providing a ranking of possible campus-wide solutions that are accessible to all students by early December (to fit into the campus budget timeline)
