Announcing Relaunch of Search for Enrollment Management Vice President

By News, September 12, 2023

Dear IC Community:

I am pleased to inform the campus community that the college has relaunched its search for a Vice President for Enrollment Management, consistent with the timeline we shared with you in June.

The college continues working with NES, a leading education consulting and executive search firm, to help us identify and retain an individual who can be successful in meeting the critical enrollment needs that are central to the college’s ongoing institutional priorities.

The selected candidate will oversee a division consisting of the following offices:

  • Undergraduate Admission
  • Graduate Admission
  • Student Financial Services
  • Constituent Engagement Strategy
  • Center for Career Exploration and Development
  • Center for Student Success and Retention

Working collaboratively with the president, the provost, the deans, other vice presidents, and the faculty, this vice president will assume broad leadership within the college. The VP will provide the vision, strategy, and operational direction to enhance the college’s strategic positioning in the prospective student market while bolstering and retaining its current student enrollment.

As previously shared, for this academic year, Executive Director of Student Financial Services Shana Gore is serving as interim associate vice president, helping to meet the day-to-day needs of our enrollment division. For 2023-24, we will also have the assistance of longtime enrollment management consultant Terry Cowdrey, a highly regarded admission strategist and industry expert who has held significant consulting roles with more than a dozen institutions. I am grateful to Shana and Terry for serving in these critical capacities as we conduct our search.

The original search committee remains the same, with the exception of a new student representative, Alexa Rahman, because Kalena Yearwood graduated in May.

The committee members are:

Claire Gleitman, co-chair
Chris McNamara, co-chair
Alexa Rahman ’24
Luca Maurer
Margaret Shackell
Mish Lenhart
Jack Powers
Eric Machan Howd ’90
Jeff Selingo ’95

Best,

La Jerne Terry Cornish
President
