Large corporations, government entities, and other enterprises large and small are faced with crisis situations on a daily basis. This course will review the basic strategies in crisis communications and the use of media (television, radio, print, web, social) to help manage a crisis situation. A review of prominent case examples (historical and current) and a variety of group crisis management simulations will be included. This course would be useful for: Strategic Communication majors who may be working in organizations faced with a crisis; TVDM and Journalism majors who would be covering those crises; Marketing majors who may be responsible for the brands involved in a crisis; and is open to any interested student.
Contact Associate Dean Rob Gearhart for additional information about the course.
