Carla Stetson, retired Associate Professor and former Chair in Art, was recognized as a 2023 NYSCA/NYFA Artist Fellowship Finalist in Printmaking/Drawing/Book Arts.

Stetson, who resides in Willseyville, NY, taught at Ithaca College for many years, including serving as Chair of the Art Department from 2016-2019. Stetson is an alum of Vermont College and Kansas City Art Institute.

The NYSCA/NYFA Artist Fellowship makes unrestricted cash grants of $8,000 to New York State-based artists working in 15 disciplines, recognizing five disciplines per year on a triennial basis.

The program is highly competitive, and this year’s recipients and finalists were selected from 4,244 applicants in discipline-specific peer-review panels. Since it was launched in 1985, the program has awarded over $35 million to 5,425 artists.

The NYSCA/NYFA Artist Fellowship program is administered by New York Foundation for the Arts (NYFA), with leadership support from the New York State Council on the Arts (NYSCA).
