October 12th (the Thursday of Fall Break), IC students will have the opportunity to participate in a Day of Service at The Learning Farm! Any space available after the student registration period ends, (on October 5th) will be filled by interested staff and faculty members.
This opportunity is from 9am-4pm. Volunteers will learn about this local non-profit that works to reconnect children and families to the outdoors and discover their connection to local, sustainable food production and shared community meals. Volunteers will assist The Learning Farm with projects on the farm, including tree planting and fence building.
Lunch will be provided, as well as snacks and ice cream! Transportation to and from the site will be provided as well. As an employer of choice who believes in the importance of service, our Human Resources department has given approval for hourly employees to be able to participate in this Day of Service, with the permission of their supervisor, without using personal or vacation time.
If you are an interested student, you can register any time now until October 5th on IC Engage! If you are an interested staff or faculty member, please email Sybil Conrad ( sconrad@ithaca.edu ) by Thursday, October 5 and you will be placed on a waiting list for any open spots. You will be notified on Friday, October 6th whether or not a spot is available for you.
Follow @ithacasacl, @icreslife, and check out our IC Engage page for important information and updates as they are released! You can email sconrad@ithaca.edu with any questions or requests for accommodations.
