Fall '23 IC Makerspace Events

We are thrilled to announce the IC Makerspace activities that are planned for the Fall '23 semester, featuring an exciting lineup of events and workshops! Whether you're a seasoned maker or just curious to explore your creative side, there's something for everyone.

October:

  • National Coming Out Day Drop-in Event: Join us on Wednesday, October 11, from 11 am to 7 pm in Friends 102 to create pronoun pins, engage in pride-related crafts, and celebrate National Coming Out Day.

  • Costume Making/Halloween Celebration: Get ready for Halloween on Thursday, October 19, from 2:30 pm to 6:30 pm in Friends 102 and Friends 110c. Use our sewing machines and supplies to perfect your costumes. We'll also have Halloween-themed crafts, food, and drinks!

  • 3D Printing Workshop: On Thursday, November 2, explore the basics of 3D printing and modeling at our entry-level workshop. Discover the possibilities of the Makerspace's 3D printers.

November:

  • Cortaca/IC Spirit Merchandise Making Event: Join us on Tuesday, November 7, from 2:30 pm to 5 pm in Friends 102. Create IC and Cortaca-themed buttons, stickers, and hats to show your IC spirit!.

  • Machine Embroidery Workshop: Learn how to turn your design ideas into embroidery projects on Thursday, November 16, from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm in Friends 102.

  • Laser Cutting Workshop: Curious about laser cutting? Find out on Thursday, November 30, from 11 am to 1 pm in Friends 102. Discover the possibilities and make your own laser-cut project.

December:

  • Hand Crafting Workshop: Date and time to be determined, but stay tuned for a specialized hand craft workshop.

  • Mug Making Workshop: Customize your own mug on Monday, December 4, from 3 pm to 5 pm in Friends 102. Learn to use the Cricut Design Space and mug press.

  • Drop-in Crafting Hours during Finals Week: Take a break from the stress of finals and join us for drop-in crafting hours in Friends 102 from December 11 to December 15. We'll have easy crafts, coloring pages, and even the option to make 3D printed fidget toys.
