Dear Ithaca College Community,

The midway point of the fall semester is upon us and that means that the annual Cortaca Jug game is right around the corner! On Saturday, November 11, the Ithaca College and SUNY Cortland football teams will clash for the 64th time to compete for the coveted jug and for the first time since 2017 the gridiron battle will take place on campus, at Bertino Field at Butterfield Stadium.

I share this message with you today to provide information regarding how to secure your ticket to this historic rivalry. All Ithaca College students, faculty and staff will have the opportunity to obtain tickets free of charge (while supplies last). Ticket distribution for the 2023 Cortaca Jug game will be held on Monday, October 30, through Wednesday, November 1, at the Athletics and Events Center’s Outdoor Ticket Window (adjacent to Higgins Stadium). Tickets will be available during the following times:

  • Monday, October 30: 6:00-8:00 p.m.
  • Tuesday, October 31: 12:00-2:00 p.m.
  • Wednesday, November 1: 6:00-8:00 p.m.

Please note that tickets will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis while supplies last and these dates are the only times you will be able to secure tickets to the game. There will not be any tickets sold at the game.

All individuals must be prepared to display their Ithaca College ID in order to secure tickets. There is a limit of one ticket issued per student ID, and students may bring one additional ID of a friend or classmate to procure a maximum of two tickets. Faculty and staff can receive a maximum of two tickets per ID, and may bring up to two additional IDs of colleagues for a maximum of six tickets.

An allotment of tickets has also been reserved for alumni and will be available for purchase through the Division of Philanthropy and Engagement.

I encourage you to stay tuned for additional updates in the coming weeks regarding gameday information, campus safety and security, and additional Cortaca related events.

I look forward to having our campus community come together in celebration of the renewal of this historic annual rivalry on our beautiful South Hill campus.

Go Bombers!
