Restrictions When Registering for Classes

Did you hit submit and receive an error message when trying to register for classes in HomerConnect?

Override in IC Workflow

  • If you have a justification for a possible exception, you may request an override of the restrictions by logging in to IC Workflow.
  • A student can access the override system after their time ticket opens.
  • The form does not automatically appear in HomerConnect. When you receive the error message, log into IC workflow and submit the form.
  • Click on Course Registration Override, complete the form and submit.
  • Can’t find the form? Type ‘override’ in the search box on IC Workflow.
  • Only students can submit their own override request.
  • Check your email regularly for an approval or denial of your request. If approved, you can register via HomerConnect. If the class is closed see below.
  • It may take a few days for the override to be approved.
  • If your request is approved, you must register for the CRN of the section that was approved.

  • The IC Workflow Override form is not available for closed classes, time conflicts, internships, independent studies, and other individualized instruction courses.

You can not override a closed course

If a course is closed, you have two options:

1. Join waitlist if seats are available. Learn how to use waitlist by watching this tutorial:

Not all classes have a waitlist option, and the number of waitlist seats varies by class.

2. Check back, classes don't start until January 22, 2024. Add/drop will be continuous.

Time Conflict Override: Last of the paper forms.

Once you obtain signatures from both professors and your Dean's office please bring the form to, Office of the Registrar, 2nd Floor of PRW.
