On Tuesday, October 31, 2023, the College Media Association (CMA) recognized Ithaca College Television (ICTV) with third place in its 2023 Television Station of the Year Pinnacle Awards competition. Ithaca college's student-run television station was previously named one of five finalists for the award within Divisions II & III, including institutions with 1,000 - 9,999 undergraduates. The announcement was made during the ACP/CMA Fall National College Media Convention in Atlanta, Georgia. Julia Davis '23 served as ICTV Station Manager during the 2022-2023 academic year.
This is the second time ICTV has placed in the CMA Pinnacle Awards competition in the last three years. ICTV won CMA's 2021 Station of the Year Pinnacle Award.
Per collegemedia.org, CMA's Pinnacle Awards honor the best college media organizations and individual work. The contest is open to student work produced for any college media organization, including print, broadcast and online outlets, during an academic year.
ICTV is Ithaca College's student-operated television production organization serving 26,000 Tompkins County cable households with a variety of community oriented programming. The station's programming includes news, sports, entertainment and scripted shows. ICTV airs locally on Spectrum Channel 16 and also streams at ictv.org.
