Spring course opportunity to work with local radio and business development

Connect to local radio and businesses in STCM 31100 this spring

If you're interested in local radio, music, and/or business, take a look at STCM 31100 Communicating with Stakeholders.  This class will teach you how to create effective messages for customers, community members, employees, donors, and stockholders.  We will be working with leaders from WRFI - FM (independent radio in downtown Ithaca) to develop their new strategic plan, and the Downtown Ithaca Alliance, (an agency that promotes small businesses and restaurants around the Commons) on an exciting new grant to expand electric bus service in our community.

Through these "live case studies" and other projects in the class, you'll develop a portfolio that demonstrates your ability to identify important constituencies, hear and respond to their needs using various types of media and engagement strategies,  and balance out the sometimes conflicting interests of different groups.  You'll also get to host a professional in the field and expand your contacts in an area of your career interests.
