Dr. Staurowsky and Jacob Willinger (SPME ’26) Presented at North American Society for the Sociology of Sport Conference

On November 2, 2023 sports media professor Dr. Ellen J. Staurowsky and Jacob Willinger (SPME ’26) presented a paper at the North American Society for the North American Society for the Sociology of Sport Conference (NASSS).

The presentation was based on an ongoing research project they have been working on with Nicholas Rosado (SPME ’26) entitled A Geography of the College Sport Marketing and Media Complex and Implications for Title IX Analyses.  Dr. Staurowsky also presented on a panel with Drs. Richard Southall and Mark Nagle (University of South Carolina) and Rick Karcher, J.D. (Eastern Michigan University) on their new book entitled The NCAA and Exploitation of College-Profit Athletes: An Amateurism That Never Was.
