Major General Gregg Martin, Author and Leader, to Spotlight Mental Health at Annual Jahn Family Civic Leadership Lecture

Retired US Major General to Spotlight Mental Health & Leadership

Established by Robert Jahn Jr. in 2011 to support the Reserve Officers' Training Corps at Ithaca College, the Jahn Civic Leadership Lecture Series has returned with featured speaker, and newly published author, Major General Gregg Martin.On Tuesday, November 7th at 7:00 PM in Emerson Suites, Martin, a retired U.S. Major General (Army), will recount his experiences serving in a leadership role while acutely affected by ongoing mental illness, how he overcame those struggles, and how college students, as emerging leaders, can learn to do the same. These themes, and more, are found throughout his newly published memoir "Bipolar General: My Forever War with Mental Illness."

The lecture will conclude with a Q&A panel featuring Major General Martin and special guests Ken Fisher ‘80, Chairman and CEO of Fisher House Foundation and Ithaca College Trustee, and Dr. Marty Stallone, CEO of Cayuga Medical. 

This lecture serves as Student Leadership Institue credit. Copies of "Bipolar General" will be available for purchase, both pre-sale, and following the lecture. 

Doors open at 6:30 PM, lecture begins at 7:00 PM.
