The last few weeks, WICB and VIC Radio, Ithaca's student-run radio stations, collected money, food and essential item donations in support of Mutual Aid Tompkins and the local communities. In total, the stations raised $280, plus a large box of food donations. The money raised was used to purchase and donate additional requested food and essential personal items. On Wednesday, December 13th, the stations stocked food sharing cabinets at the following Ithaca locations:
520 Alice Miller Way
305 South Plain Street (Southside Community Center)
516 West State Street (Multicultural Resource Center)
2222 Slaterville Road
The donated items include bagels, bread, cereal, cereal bars, oatmeal, nuts, crackers, powdered milk, rice, pasta, plus toilet paper, feminine products, paper towels, ziploc bags, cleaning wipes, soap, deodorant and a few children's toys.
