Get ready for a major network upgrade! Over the winter break, we're taking the first step in enhancing our campus network by upgrading the switches in several key buildings. This project will improve network reliability, speed, and security, ensuring a smoother and more efficient online experience for everyone.
When and where:
January 5th-12th 2024 will encompass phase 1 of the project. Each building listed below will experience a network outage throughout the day specified.
- Dillingham Center - Jan 5
- Whalen Center for Music - Jan 8
- Park Center for Business - Jan 8
- Williams Hall - Jan 9
- Athletics & Events Center - Jan 10
- Center for Natural Science - Jan 10
- Jan 11-12 will be backup dates to finalize any outstanding tasks
What to expect:
- Minimal disruption: Upgrades will take place during the winter break to minimize impact on campus operations. However, network access will be unavailable on some or all floors of buildings listed above during the maintenance windows.
- Improved performance: Once complete, you'll experience faster internet speeds, more reliable connections, and enhanced security for your devices.
- Future improvements: This change will enable faster and more innovative future upgrades.
Building administrators are on board and fully supportive of this project. They will be updated with status as work progresses. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation as we work to improve the network experience for everyone on campus.
