This email is the official call for Summer Session 2024 courses. Please review and share with your department faculty, as appropriate.
Due Date
Department course proposals are due to my office by Friday, February 02nd using the attached Excel form.
Graduate Coursework
The Office of Extended Studies (OES) will now also be collecting, reporting to the Registrar, and issuing faculty additional pay letters (for non-12-month faculty) all graduate courses offered during the summer sessions. So, when sending your course proposals, please clearly designate your undergraduate vs. graduate courses. All graduate courses being offered should appear on the excel spreadsheet. This may require more internal coordination in your department or with your dean’s office as this is a change in process.
Summer Session Calendar
The Summer Session Schedule will go live on Monday, February 26th and registration for Summer Session courses will open on Monday, March 04.
There are TWO sessions now so please make sure to include which session your courses will be part of in 2024.
- Session One – May 28 - July 02, 2024
- Session Two – July 08 – August 09, 2024

How to Submit
To report your department’s courses, complete the Course Reporting Excel form and email it to oes@ithaca.edu. Check your IC email for a lengthier email from OES on this Summer Call that has the form attached. Otherwise, email OES for a copy of the form. Please include all the information that applies to your courses (including if there’s any special compensation requirements). Don’t forget to include the Department Chair’s name in the form so that if we have questions, we can easily reach out.
Please let your faculty know that all course proposals and edits MUST be communicated to OES through you, the Department Chair. Doing so will help streamline the communication during this process. Also, please report in advance all independent studies, internships, lessons, and fieldwork for Summer Sessions to OES.
