Public Safety Investigating Reported Burglaries and Criminal Trespasses  

The Office of Public Safety and Emergency Management is investigating two residence hall room burglaries, one in Terrace 3 and another in Terrace 7, that were reported to have occurred between Friday, December 15, 2023, and Monday, January 22, 2024. Residents reported that personal property was stolen from their rooms. In addition, Public Safety received two reports of criminal trespass, in a Garden Apartment and a Lyon Hall room, where no items were stolen. 

At this time, there are no suspects.  

Our top priority is the safety and well-being of our campus community, and we believe that timely and transparent communication is crucial in ensuring everyone remains vigilant and takes necessary precautions.  

Anyone having information pertaining to these incidents is encouraged to contact the Office of Public Safety and Emergency Management. If you have experienced signs of unauthorized entry into your residence hall room or campus apartment, please contact Public Safety immediately at 607-274-3333. 

Members of the campus community are reminded to store valuables in a secure area, always lock their offices, rooms, and apartments, and immediately report any unusual or suspicious activity to the Office of Public Safety and Emergency Management or local law enforcement agency.
