On Monday, February 5, 2024, the LGBTQ Unbordered International Film Festival announced its award winners via email and press release. Ithaca College Television's "The Universal Truth" received an "Award of Merit" in the student category (United States).

The Universal Truth is an original five-episode fictional television series that follows Milky Way, an immortal being currently slugging around in college, focused only on having fun. But Time and Space are coming to visit, and if Milky can’t find a way to prove the worth of their creations, it could mean the end of the galaxy… forever! The series was produced by Rebecca Rivera '23, AJ Pass '23, Julia Stitely '24 and Ava Berardi '25.

Episodes one, two and three premiered on ICTV during the 2022-23 academic year. Episodes four and five premiered during the Fall 2023 semester. The show's entire cast and crew were made up of Ithaca College students.

The LGBTQ Unbordered International Film Festival includes over 25-categories and several sub-categories. The festival event is scheduled for June 21, 2024 in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware.

This past September, The Universal Truth received the Merced Queer Film Festival's "Best Student Series" award. In addition, the show's third episode was screened during the three-day festival. The award was presented at the festival's awards ceremony and was accepted by the show's producers.
