At its February meetings, the Ithaca College Board of Trustees elected a new chair and vice chair to three-year terms that begin July 1, 2024.
Elected chair was John Neeson, a 1984 Ithaca College graduate who is co-founder of the global B2B research and advisory firm SiriusDecisions and an adjunct professor at Boston College. The new vice chair is Christopher Palmieri, a 1996 IC graduate who is president and CEO of Commonwealth Care Alliance, a Massachusetts-based, not-for-profit health care organization dedicated to improving the health and well-being of individuals with significant needs.
“We are extremely excited about this opportunity to serve,” said Neeson, who was first elected to the board in 2022 and is the co-chair of the philanthropy and engagement committee and serves on the marketing and enrollment strategy committee. “One of the things we love about Ithaca is that the college stands alone in the diversity of its unique academic programs. The experience at IC prepares students like no other college.”
Palmieri thanked current chair David Lissy ’87, who was first elected to the board in 2011, and vice chair James Nolan ’77, first elected to the board in 2012, for their years of service, leadership, and dedication.
“We are taking the baton from two alumni who have been highly successful board leaders,” said Palmieri, who joined the board in 2021 and currently is the co-chair of the finance and investment committee and serves on the marketing and enrollment strategy committee. “We will continue to carry forward the work of the college, advising and supporting our distinguished president and her cabinet.”
