The BIPOC Unity Center has 2 scholarships available for students for the 2024 academic year; we encourage you to apply! The application is open the entire student body.

ALS Memorial Scholarship ($1,200.00)

The African-Latino Society (ALS) Memorial scholarship is awarded to a student of color at Ithaca College who has made significant contributions to the Ithaca College campus.  This scholarship aims to honor a student who has worked to influence and promote the academic, political, social, economic, and cultural welfare of BIPOC students at IC and the greater Tompkins County community (or their local community). 

The Rashad G. Richardson “I Can Achieve” Memorial Scholarship ($3,000.00)

The Rashad G. Richardson "I Can Achieve" Memorial Scholarship is intended to recognize a high-achieving, student of color at Ithaca College.  The ideal candidate will have made significant contributions toward improving the quality of life for BIPOC youth in the Tompkins County community. their local community, or through a national organization dedicated to supporting BIPOC youth during the pandemic.   

Eligibility Constraints

  • Submissions should be received before April 10, 5:00pm. **No exceptions will be made after the application has closed in the spirit of fairness and consistency*** 
  • Only students returning for the 2024-2025 academic year to Ithaca College are eligible for this scholarship.
  • 1 (or more depending on pool) student will be initially selected to receive the African Latino Society and Rashad G. Richardson “I Can Achieve” Memorial scholarship. Depending on your financial aid package, you may receive the full award or only be eligible for a portion of it.
  • Interested applicants need not be ALS/SOCC Exec or General Body Members.
  • The monetary award of these scholarship ranges from $1,000.00-$3,000.00
