Closing Monday: Last Call for Student Leadership Institute (SLI) Proposals this Academic Year!

By Jess Shapiro, February 21, 2024

Four SLI logos, one for each path - Leading Self, Leading Others, Leading in a Diverse World, Leading @ IC

Present a Student Leadership Institute (SLI) workshop about your passion topic!  This opportunity is open to staff, faculty, students, and community members.  We're heading into the last block of the academic year, so now is the time to think about a topic to present on!

Whether you are a staff or faculty member who wants to engage with the student body in a new way or a student who has learned valuable leadership lessons throughout their time at Ithaca College—the Office of Student Engagement (OSE) is always looking for new, interesting presentations to include as leadership workshops.  The Student Leadership Institute does not include any "required" workshops so our curriculum changes each semester based on what our campus community wants to teach and learn about!

You might also have an event that you are already planning for Block 4, and we can collaborate to offer it for SLI credit and increase participation at the event!

You can choose the date and time for your workshop during Block 4 in the spring (most workshops are 45-60 minutes long) and there are both in-person and virtual options available.  More information about presenting SLIs can be found here

Interested? Here's how to get involved!

  • Pick an SLI path—Leading Self, Leading Others, Leading in a Diverse World, or Leading @ IC (descriptions are on the website).
    • We are especially in need of Leading Others sessions.
  • Fill out the SLI Proposal Form on IC Engage—this form is due February 26, 2024 for Block 4 sessions (March 18th - April 26th).
  • All Spring Block 4 SLIs will be published to students by March 13, 2024.
  • If you would like guidance on all things SLI, email us at leadership@ithaca.edu.
