The Women's Mentoring Network is hosting an event on Tuesday, March 5th at 4-5pm in the Taughannock Falls Room (3rd floor of Campus Center). Join Jess Shapiro, Assistant Director in the Office of Student Engagement, for an interactive conversation about conference attendance and other professional development opportunities. Jess has attended various national, regional, and state higher education & student affairs conferences over the years and has served on conference planning committees and other association leadership roles. She'll share her tips and tricks, but also wants to hear from other veteran and newer conference goers in the group! Light refreshments will be served. Feel free to RSVP here (not required).
About the Women's Mentoring Network:
The Women's Mentoring Network (WMN) is open to faculty and staff at Ithaca College and was established in the fall of 2018 with the purpose of “enabling women to connect in meaningful ways to support their goals”. The WMN grew out of an initial President’s Seed Grant to support mid-career faculty women in spring 2018. Through the work of the grant, the women involved recognized a larger need across campus for all women and the vision for the WMN began to take shape. The WMN offers individual mentoring opportunities, mentoring circles, and large-group events like this one.
The network currently consists of approximately 175 faculty and staff members across schools, departments, programs, and divisions. This interest highlights a distinct need for women on our campus related to professional and personal development through mentoring and networking. We invite you to join the network on our Teams site!
