Chances are someone in your life is a survivor of sexual violence, even if they have never shared their story with you. Show your support for survivors by wearing teal — the color of sexual violence prevention — on April 2nd. By wearing teal, you are signaling that you support survivors and are a safe person to talk to if they need to reach out.
Throughout the month of April, the Prevention Education Network at Ithaca College will be putting on events in honor of SAAM. Our kickoff event is on April 2, 2024 from 11AM-1PM in the North Foyer. Please join us to learn more about resources across campus and support Sexual Assault Awareness Month.
This year’s theme is Building Connected Communities
Building Connected Communities helps us reduce the likelihood of sexual abuse, assault, and harassment in our communities. Any space where people come together is a community, whether in neighborhoods, workplaces, campuses, organizations, or even online spaces. We are all a part of a community, often many, even when we may feel disconnected or apart from them. Community building is a powerful tool and can help prevent sexual violence from occurring, help us recognize the signs of violence, and support survivors.
