Dear Campus Community,
As we approach the final stretch of the Spring 2024 semester, we share this message with you today with an exciting update as we move into the next phase of our Campus Climate Survey process. Over the past few months, our partner organization, Rankin Climate, has been compiling and evaluating the data received from those who participated in the Campus Climate Survey during the Fall 2023 semester in preparation of a comprehensive final report. We are pleased to announce that we will be hosting two opportunities for our campus community to join the Rankin Climate team for an open presentation of the report on Thursday, April 25, 2024.
The first community presentation will be held from 12:10-1:05 p.m. in Emerson Suites. A streaming option will be made available for this session for individuals unable to attend in person. A full recording of this session will also be posted to the Campus Climate website following the presentation.
The second community presentation will be hosted later that afternoon from 4:00-5:15 p.m. in Textor 102. This presentation will be an in-person session only and will not have a livestream option.
These presentations serve an important role in the Campus Climate Survey process. In addition to providing an opportunity to transparently share an overview of the most salient findings of the report with our campus community, they will also serve as an initial platform to engage our community in developing next steps.
During both presentations, we will allot a significant portion of time for a question-and-answer session. We will be taking live questions from the in-person audience, while those attending via the livestreamed first session will also have an opportunity to submit questions. Additionally, an online form will be made available in early April to enable members of our campus community to pre-submit questions. Responses will be shared during the presentations and will be posted in an FAQs page on the Campus Climate website.
We anticipate sharing another update to the campus community in mid-April. This communication will include more details about these upcoming presentations and where members of our campus community can access the Key Findings Report and presentation slides. We hope you can join us for one of these presentations and we look forward to engaging with our community as we turn intent into action.
Sincerely,
The Campus Climate Committee Co-Chairs
Belisa González, Dean of Faculty Equity, Inclusion and Belonging
Luca Maurer, Executive Director for Student Equity, Inclusion and Belonging
