On April 4th from 5-7pm in Clark Lounge, Caroline Charles will discuss her research on Black visual archives and how it intersects with her involvement in two public-facing archival projects in her hometown of Syracuse, NY--A Love Supreme: Black Cultural Expression and Political Activism of the 1960s and 1970san exhibition in Syracuse University Libraries Special Collections Research Center and the Turning the Lens Collective’s Family Pictures Syracuse Project. She will discuss the process of curation, the importance of collaboration in the archives, and how these practices can be activated alongside local communities.
