We hope you will join us to learn more about the first-year student experience at Ithaca College and to explore ways that faculty members can provide support to help promote first-year student success.

The Last Class: Maximizing Course Feedback

- This workshop focuses on how to prepare students to offer thoughtful, constructive feedback on student course statements for maximum pedagogical effectiveness. Workshop includes protocols for gathering midterm feedback, generating final course feedback you can use to revise the syllabus and your teaching practice, as well as discussion prompts about how and why student statements are used, and a worksheet to help class members prepare for the final student course statement.

- Looking for ways to make your life easier as an academic advisor? Join us for “Tools for More Efficient Advising,” which will showcase tools and strategies for making advising sessions more efficient and effective. Featured tools include Coursicle, Degree Works pro tips, and the new Canvas Advising Site template. This session, co-hosted by the Center for Faculty Excellence and the Center for Instructional Design and Educational Technology, features faculty presenters Chris Hummel, Kathleen Mulligan, Margaret Shackell, and John Vongas.
