Kathleen Mulligan (Center for Theatre and Dance) recently spent two weeks in Vientiane, Laos working with students at the Vientiane International School.Prior to her arrival, theatre studentswere asked to talk to their parents, grandparents, and others about their family stories. Mulligan then guided the students to write original monologues in the voice of a family member/ancestor based on one of those stories. Finally, the monologues were rehearsed and performed for parents and other members of the school community. In addition, Mulligan performed her solo piece The Belle of Amherst(based on the life of Emily Dickinson) for the school and the public.
