Dear Ithaca College Students,
I share this message with great excitement as we count down the final days of the spring semester and the conclusion of the 2023-24 academic year. As the calendar turns to May, this is typically a time where we come together as a campus community to celebrate all the incredible milestones and achievements from this year.
As we get ready to celebrate the conclusion of the spring semester, I want to emphasize the importance of doing so responsibly and respectfully. If you plan to take part in any end of semester festivities, both sponsored on-campus gatherings and unsanctioned off-campus celebrations, I stress that you please be mindful of your personal well-being and be good neighbors to all the individuals that make up our vibrant Ithaca College and greater South Hill communities. In particular, I ask that our students pay special attention to abide by all local laws and noise ordinances, and to not trespass or deface any private property in our shared community.
Ithaca College is a community whose members are committed to caring for one another. Please be willing to make positive interventions if you encounter a situation where a friend or fellow student needs support. Students encountering an emergency situation on campus should contact Ithaca College’s Office of Public Safety and Emergency Management at 607-274-3333 to receive immediate support. When off campus, please call 9-1-1 to report an emergency. I also invite you to learn more about Ithaca College’s Medical Amnesty Policy (MAP) intended to encourage students to seek needed medical assistance for drug and alcohol emergencies that unfortunately can arise as a result of taking celebrations too far.
I also want to highlight some of our upcoming Ithaca College-sponsored events and programs to celebrate the end of the academic year.
IC Kicks Back – Fri., May 3 | 3– 7 PM
Celebrate the end of the spring semester by swinging by the Campus Center Quad for our annual IC Kicks Back event. Come enjoy some free food, including barbeque favorites and sweet treats, along with carnival games, inflatables, and live music. All Ithaca College students must present their student ID at the check-in table to enter the event.
No outside bags, water bottles, or other containers will be permitted.
IC Bureau of Concerts Spring Concert – Fri., May 3 | 7– 10 PM
Following the conclusion of the IC Kicks Back event, the Bureau of Concerts invites students to stick around the Campus Center Quad for a musical performance you won’t want to miss. The BOC will host its annual spring semester concert with two touring artists set to take the stage from 7:00 – 10:00 p.m. The concert is open to all IC students free of charge, but students again should be prepared to display their student ID in order to enter the event and no outside bags, water bottles, or other containers are permitted.

Ithaca College Dining Services will host a celebratory IC Community Brunch on Saturday, May 4, between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. in the Campus Center Dining Hall. This free event is open to all current IC students regardless of whether you are on the IC meal plan or not. For all the Star Wars fans out there, you may see an interesting Star Wars spin on some of your traditional brunch favorites in observance of the May the 4th holiday (may the force be with you). You won’t want to miss this opportunity to enjoy some free food to kick off your final weekend in advance of finals.
Jedi Jam Celebration – Sat., May 4 | 11 AM – 1 PM
In conjunction with May the 4th and the imminent arrival of Finals Week, the Division of Student Affairs and Campus Life will be hosting a Jedi Jam celebration on the Campus Center Quad to have the force be with you during the final days of the semester. We invite you to stop by between 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. for some fun Star Wars themed activities, lawn games, music, and some free Star Wars themed sweets and refreshments.
