Zoom Workplace is the new name of the latest version (6.0) of Zoom which reflects Zooms expansion from a video conferencing platform to a wider suite of product solutions for the workplace. It’s designed to enhance online collaboration, communication, and productivity.

Ithaca College managed faculty and staff devices are automatically updated to the latest version (6.0) Zoom Workplace. You can opt to manually update Zoom at any time. For instructions visit Zoom’s support article: Updating Zoom to the latest version

Some highlighted features with Zoom Workplace include:

• Customizable Meeting Toolbar: When in meetings, you’ll see a simplified toolbar with the ability to drag and drop items to customize your view. 
• Desktop App Navigation: Notice a simplified navigation in the Zoom client with the ability to drag and drop tabs to customize your view. 
• Multi-Speaker View: When in a meeting with more than five participants, you can go to “Views” in the top right corner to turn on a new multi-speaker view, highlighting people who are actively speaking in the meeting. 
• Survey and Polls/Quizzes: Manage all your surveys, polls and quizzes from one integrated library and launch polls and quizzes anytime without having to enable them prior to a meeting.

• OneDrive Integration: Zoom Workplace offers improved integration with OneDrive. This feature is under review and planned for release.

• Zoom AI Companion: Zoom Workplace offers a smart assistant, powered by artificial intelligence, to help provide meeting summaries and more. Zoom AI Companion is integrated within Meetings, Whiteboard, and more. This feature is under review and expected to launch in Fall 2024.
