Fall 2024 Registration Continues and Waitlist Knowledge: what you need to know.

Registration for continuing undergraduate students paused on Sunday, June 9, 2024, at 11:59 pm.

Registration is resuming for continuing students on Monday, August 5, 2024, at 9:00 am. If you had a seat on waitlist, your waitlist seat will be restored during this time.

The last day to add/drop classes for Fall 2024 is Sunday, September 1, 2024, at 11:59 pm.

Waitlist provides an opportunity for students to 'wait in line' for a seat to open in a course if a course is at capacity.  A seat will become available if another student drops their seat. (There is no override form for a class that is full.)

How to tell if you are on a waitlist:

From your profile page in HomerConnect, make sure you have Fall 2024 selected in the upper left corner, and review your schedule for courses that have a Registration Status of Waitlist.

What to expect for waitlist Fall 2024:

  • Monday, August 26, 2024, at 8 am (first day of classes) notification timing reduces to 12 hours during add/drop week. (Note: the notification reduces to 12 hours only during add/drop week. Until then, you can add courses within 24 hours of receipt of the notification email.) If you receive an email during add/drop week that a seat is available, you have 12 hours to register for the course. 
  • Wednesday, August 28, 2024 at 11:59pm the option to add waitlist will shut off for all classes. We want to ensure students are registering for classes that they can successfully enroll in and attend.

What to do if you receive a waitlist notification:

  • From the time you receive an email notifying you a seat is open you have 24 hours to add the seat. (The 24-hour clock includes evenings, weekends and holidays so please keep checking your email).
  • Go into your registration and click the drop down and change it from “waitlist” to “web registered/registered”
  • Click submit.
  • You will know you are registered for the class if the status says “registered”
  • Have a backup plan, a seat may not open, and the last day of add/drop is Sunday, September 1, 2024 at 11:59 pm
  • Ensure all holds are resolved on your account, if you have a hold you will not be able to register and your seat will not be saved.

Getting an Error?

If you are waitlisted for a course and you get a waitlist notification that a spot has opened and you try to register for it, but you are getting an error message, make sure that you see what the error message means.

You can check out our Understanding Registration Error Messages guide for more information regarding error messages. Depending on the error message, you may have to request a course registration override via the form on IC workflow.
