Plan Your On Campus Travel - August Move-In Days

By Laura Davis, August 13, 2024

In just a few short days, we will be welcoming students back to campus to begin a new academic year.

We ask for your patience and support by avoiding driving and parking near residential areas during the 4 primary move-in days, which are:

  • Monday, August 19 (early arriving students)
  • Wednesday, August 21 (new student move-in)
  • Saturday, August 24 (continuing student move-in)
  • Sunday, August 25 (continuing student move-in)

The areas of campus that will be congested include M-lot (near the A&E Center) and all parking lots near the residence halls.

Additionally, J-Lot (the parking lot above the two Towers) will be particularly full as move-in will be taking place while work continues on the Terrace Elevator Connector Project. Contractors will be performing work on the exterior of the new addition but should not be impeding traffic flow. Starting Wednesday, August 14 the temporary two-way traffic pattern for the J-lot elbow curve and lower J-lot will be suspended and the standard one-way pattern will begin. (In the event there is a future temporary need to return to two-way traffic, flaggers will be on sight at the elbow-curve.)

Please also note that signage and fencing will be erected to direct individuals to use the exterior stairs to the North of the Terrace Dining Hall to access the dining hall and traverse through to the Terraces. The Baker Walkway will also be open and available for elevator access. We anticipate that there will be a small footprint of approximately 12 parking spaces that will remain offline for much of the Fall term in J-Lot near West Tower to support the Elevator Connector Project.

Thank you for your support and understanding as we strive to have a smooth move-in next week!
