Seeking Advisors and Board Members for the Sexual Misconduct Grievance Process

We are seeking volunteers to serve as College Trained Advisors and/or Board Members for cases of sexual misconduct. Both Advisors and Board Members play a critical role in protecting student rights and enacting due process measures.

College Trained Advisors are part of a pool of college employees made available, through the Title IX Office, to Complainants and Respondents as they go through the investigative and student conduct processes. Advisors are an invaluable supportive measure for participants of the sexual misconduct process, as they offer support, knowledge, and a helping hand throughout the process.

Board Members will be called upon for Conduct Review Boards to review all evidence collected during an investigation and presented by Complainants and Respondents during the hearing. Board Members are responsible for hearing evidence and making outcome decisions during the hearing process. Conduct Review Board members are an essential part of the decision-making process and ensure a fair and equitable experience for all involved parties throughout the duration of the hearing.

There will be a comprehensive training to cover the Title IX Regulations and its impact on our Policy and Procedure. The training will be offered as a module for independent virtual learning, to be completed by September 16th. Training will be followed by a 90-minute Review Session on September 17, 2024, 2-3:30pm.

Please contact Kelly McCloe at kmccloe@ithaca.edu by September 9th, if you are interested in serving in either of these roles for the upcoming year or have questions about the position or training.

Individuals with disabilities requiring accommodations should contact the Title IX Office at share@ithaca.edu or (607) 274-7761. We ask that requests for accommodations be made as soon as possible
