Introducing Textor, IC's friendly chatbot!

Textor is Here to Help!

This week, Ithaca College's Center for Student Success team has debuted Textor, an AI-powered chatbot, to ensure that IC students can stay up to date with important dates and deadlines and to help IC students get connected to various resources on campus. 

Throughout the semester, all first and second year students, as well as all new transfer students, who have given their consent to receive text messages from IC will receive periodic messages from Textor. However, you don't have to wait for Textor to contact you, you can initiate a conversation with Textor at any time by texting 607-325-7874. Once you text, Textor will try their best to get you the info you need! In the case that Textor doesn't have the answers you're looking for, a representative from the Center for Student Success will reach out to you as soon as possible to provide assistance. We will be monitoring the responses Textor gives and receives to ensure that Textor is providing students with helpful, accurate information.

Although Textor's goal is to provide on-demand assistance to students, we understand that not everyone wants to receive text messages from Textor. If, at any time, you wish to opt out (i.e., stop receiving texts from Textor), you can respond to Textor's messages with the word STOP. If you want to ensure that you receive messages from Textor (as well as any other important communications from IC), please update your communication preferences here: https://student.ithaca.edu/register/mobile-update. This is especially important for any new students who may have used a parent/guardian's phone number for admissions updates.
