As flu season approaches, it’s time to protect yourself—and those around you—by getting a flu shot here right on campus.
On Tuesday, October 15th from 8:30 a.m. through 12:30 p.m. in Emerson Suites, Ithaca College will once again be holding our annual Point of Dispensing (POD) for faculty, staff, and students to receive a flu vaccination.
Staying up to date with vaccinations is one of the most effective ways to protect yourself, your friends, your co-workers, and your family from serious illness.
Did you know:
• Flu outbreaks are preventable if everyone gets their shot.
• You can spread the flu before you even know you are sick.
• The flu vaccine can keep you from getting sick with the flu and can also reduce the risk of flu-associated hospitalizations.
• The flu vaccine lasts for the entire flu season.
Conducted by the Department of Health Sciences and Public Health in conjunction with Cayuga Health System, this event is a convenient opportunity for Ithaca College community members—students, faculty, and staff—to receive a flu shot in a minimal amount of time, while supplies last.
Reserve your flu shot by registering for a timeslot today. Walk-ins are also welcome.
Participants should plan their apparel appropriately to receive a shot in the upper arm. Students, faculty, and staff enrolled in an IC-sponsored health insurance plan through Aetna receive full coverage for flu shots administered at this event. Campus community members who are not covered under an IC-sponsored health insurance plan through Aetna are encouraged to check with their insurance provider for more information. Although annual flu shots are typically fully covered by most health insurance plans, individuals are encouraged to confirm coverage with their provider prior to booking an appointment to avoid any unforeseen fees.
