The aim of the Stop & Breathe week is to highlight the amazing self-care events across campus that are happening during midterms and the end of the semester, some very high stress times for everyone.

Consider attending one of these programs to catch your breath before midterms! Our wonderful program sponsors are offering an excellent array of events for your consideration.

Event Title: Group Exercise

Description: Goup exercise classes are offered free of charge and open to all members of the Ithaca College campus community. Class sign-ups are available online at recreation.ithaca.edu and at the Fitness Center front desk 24 hours prior to the scheduled start time. Most classes will be held in the Fitness Center's Aerobics Room.

Event Title: BAU Presents: An Evening of Jazz

Description: Jazz Night is a fundraiser centered around celebrating the impact of Jazz on the music and art industry at large in addition to showcasing the talent of students right here on Ithaca College's campus. The night is complete with a mocktail upon entry, desserts and appetizers, cocktail attire (fancy black), and a set list of about 15 amazing BIPOC performers, with singers, dancers, spoken word/poetry, and instrumentalists.

Event Title: Managing Stress

Description: During this workshop, students will participate in small group discussions and brainstorms to identify healthy stress coping mechanisms. Students will also develop several self-care plans and learn about stress management resources.

Event Title: Many Pages, One Book: Creating a Personal Artist’s Book that Reflects Your True Self
Time: 4pm-5:15pm
Location: CAPS Group Room (meet at CAPS Front Desk)
Description: Join us for a creative session, whether you think of yourself as an artist or not! Using a simple, eight-page book structure, we will create mini artist's books allowing each person to express facets of who they are. The session will include time to reflect, time to create, and time to share if you would like. (No one will be required to share.) This session will provide space for students to pause during the busyness of the semester, to reflect on the aspects of themselves they draw upon daily as well as the parts of themselves that might not get as much expression, and to create a small book they can take with them as they continue to deepen and develop their sense of self.
