The History Department invites the campus community to "The Many Faces of Authoritarianism: Russia, Turkey, and France."

Dr. Jonathan Ablard, History, will serve as moderator for a discussion with three experts on the rise of authoritarianism around the world. Our experts will share both personal and scholarly perspectives on authoritarian politics and regimes in Russia, Turkey, and France:

  • Arthur Groys, Ithaca City of Asylum Artist Protection Fund Fellow in Residence at Ithaca College;
  • Dr. Sumru Atuk, Politics; and
  • Dr. Mat Fournier, World Languages, Literatures, and Cultures
