As most have heard, Pennsylvania is an important state in the upcoming election and we know many of our students are from PA. As we get closer to the election, it is possible to vote early in PA.
Every county will be offering what is called “over-the-counter" voting – also called mail ballot voting “on demand”. Students who registered to vote using their permanent address in Pennsylvania can participate in this process if they are unable to attend in person to vote on election day and have not requested an absentee ballot.
To participate:
- Voters request a mail-in ballot in person at a county elections office
- Voters receive the ballot and compete it onsite
- Voters return the ballot to a drop box, all in the same trip.
You’ll need to check with your county’s election office while the office is open so please check for more details here. You can find more information here: https://vote.pa/info/early/
If you would prefer to vote locally, the last day to register to vote using your campus address is October 26. You can register to vote at the Tompkins County Board of elections, by picking up a paper registration form and dropping it to their offices (must be received by October 26) or you can register online at vote.gov.
For more information about registering to vote, to check your registration status, or for information about absentee ballots go to vote.gov.
