Filing paperwork for a name change can often feel overwhelming. The Cornell LGBT Resource Center is hosting a name change clinic where you can work with a lawyer from the Volunteer Lawyers Project of CNY to start the process of a legal name change, and IC students are invited to sign up. You must be a New York State Resident. The clinic is Friday, November 8, 10am-4pm, at 626 Thurston Ave.
Appointments are required—first come, first served. To sign up for a one-hour appointment, please fill out this intake form: https://forms.office.com/r/0774ADC3ab. Registration closes November 4.
Once the Cornell LGBT Resource Center receives confirmation that you have filled out the intake form, they will contact you to schedule you for an appointment. Though appointments are available from 10am-4pm, they will be scheduled in the earliest time block based on availability.
Requirements from the hosts:
- Identify as TGNC+ (trans or gender non-conforming)
- New York State Resident
- Must be income qualified (fill out the form for more information)
- Open to Cornell students, IC students, and the local community
- Youth under the age of 18 need permission from both parents
