The Ithacan, Ithaca College's award-winning student-run news organization, placed first in six categories across two competitions during the 2024 Associated Collegiate Press/College Media Association Fall National College Media Convention in New Orleans from Oct. 30-Nov. 2.
The Ithacan won first place in ACP's Best of Show competition in the Reporting: Election 2024 category for its voter guide. The Ithacan also received recognition for its digital newsletter, newspaper and website in the Best of Show competition.
In CMA's Pinnacle Awards, The Ithacan took first in five categories: best recruitment ad, special topic email newsletter, best comic strip, best investigative sports story and best column. It also received recognition in 10 other categories.
The Ithacan also took second place in the CMA Film and Audio Festival for Video Feature Package for "The L.L.Bean Bootmobile comes to IC" by Ray Milburn '26 and Nathan Glasser '27.
The awards honor the best college media organizations and individual student work in the country.
