Choral Collage: We Are Music

By Eli Foodman, November 15, 2024

Join us for a mesmerizing evening of choral artistry with the Ithaca College South Hill Singers, Treble Chorale, and the Ithaca College Choir, under the direction of Dr. Khyle Wooten and Melissa Rooklidge, as they present their concert, "We Are Music." This performance will highlight the power of choral music to unite, uplift, and inspire, bringing together voices from across the college community in a celebration of human expression through song.

The concert program reflects a rich blend of both traditional and contemporary works, embodying themes of togetherness, resilience, and the joy of shared musical experience.

Program Highlights:

  • In Meeting We Are Blessed – Troy Robertson, a reflection on the sacredness of community
  • I Thank You God – Gwyneth Walker, inspired by the poetry of E.E. Cummings
  • Táncnóta – Zoltán Kodály, an energetic and spirited Hungarian folk song
  • Mother to Son – Undine Smith Moore, a powerful choral setting of Langston Hughes’ iconic poem
  • I am Music – Dale Trumbore, a contemporary composition that celebrates the essence of music itself
