Planning underway for the 21st annual fall program of all-college Ithaca Seminars

By Angela Gian-Cursio, November 15, 2024

Sent on behalf of Amy Quan, Coordinator, Ithaca Seminars

Planning for the fall 2025 lineup of Ithaca Seminars is underway. All new and returning Ithaca Seminar instructors are warmly invited to express their interest in teaching.

The Ithaca Seminars are 4-credit, liberal arts, interdisciplinary, small-class first-year seminars offered principally in the fall semester of each academic year. The Ithaca Seminars welcome each and every new student to Ithaca College and the aspirations of a college experience and are a foundational course in the Integrative Core Curriculum (ICC).
Each Ithaca Seminar combines a unique topical focus (chosen by the instructor) with additional support for students as they transition from high school to higher education. More than 50 seminar topics are scheduled each fall, taught by faculty from across the College and each of its Schools. Ithaca Seminars have a long history at Ithaca College, where they were first taught in 2005.
Expressions of interest are solicited now to allow for staffing decisions to be made and for course proposals, scheduling, development opportunities, etc. in the spring.

Interested parties are encouraged to please discuss this possibility with their Department Chair and Dean’s Office in the coming days, and no later than Wednesday, November 20, 2024.
Further details of the Ithaca Seminars can be found at the Ithaca College website: www.ithaca.edu/ithacaseminar
