The international section of the Ithaca College Travel Policy has been revised, effective May 16, 2024. Please take a moment to review the Policy and updated information on the International Travel page.
Key points to note:
- If you are planning to travel internationally, please review the college’s International Travel page and follow the Step-By-Step International Travel Checklist to help you prepare for your trip.
- A Spend Authorization must be submitted and approved prior to making any international travel-related purchases or registering for online conferences.
- All international travelers must now complete and submit a waiver with their Spend Authorization, based on the destination country's Travel Advisories Risk Level.
- It is the responsibility of the traveler to stay up to date on current Travel Advisories for the countries where travel will be occurring.
- Travel to countries with a Level 3 or Level 4 Department of State Travel Advisory is generally not allowed. Exceptions require approval, and there is a process to request such approval. Please see Petition for Permission to Travel to High-Risk International Locations.
- These policy changes apply to all staff and faculty traveling internationally on college business, regardless of the source of funds.
- Travelers are responsible for understanding this Policy before planning any international travel on behalf of the college.
Thank you for your attention to this important update.
