Updated Hours for Campus Resources Available During 2024 November (Thanksgiving) Break

Ithaca College Community,

As we look forward to the November Break (November 23 – December 1), Ithaca College will have some alterations to the typical hours, services, and resources available for individuals remaining on campus during the break. As a reminder, the college will be fully closed Wednesday, November 27, through Saturday, November 30, in observance of the Thanksgiving holiday. Please keep reading for more information on several key campus support areas that will have altered availability over the coming days.

Please note that the list below is not comprehensive and may not list every area with altered hours of operation or limited resources during the break period. For more information on a particular service or office that is not listed, please visit their website and/or contact that office directly.

Ithaca College Dining Services

Ithaca College Dining Services will have significant changes to its hours of operation for its retail and dining hall locations beginning Friday, November 22, and extending through Sunday, December 1.

Friday, November 22

Alterations to the typical dining hours of operation will begin on the evening of Friday, November 22. Dinner service will only be offered at the Terrace Dining Hall location from 5:00-9:00 p.m., while all other dining hall locations will be closed for dinner service.

Retail locations will maintain their regular hours of operation. The Campus Center Dining Hall, Towers Eatery, and Kosher Eatery will also have their normal hours for breakfast and lunch.

Saturday, November 23 – Sunday, November 24

All dining locations are closed.

Monday, November 25 – Tuesday, November 26

The Ithaca Bakery retail location in IC Square will offer breakfast and lunch service from 8:00 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.

All other retail and dining hall locations are closed.

Wednesday, November 27 – Sunday, December 1

All retail and dining hall locations are closed.

Dining service will resume on the evening of Sunday, December 1, with dinner service being offered at the Terrace Dining Hall from 5:00-9:00 p.m. and the Kosher in Terrace from 5:00-7:00 p.m.

Ithaca College Food Pantry (Prunty’s Pantry)

The Ithaca College Food Pantry (Prunty’s Pantry) is offering expanded hours for the week leading up to November Break and also additional hours of operation during the break week. Please see the hours of operation below:

Friday, November 22: 4:00-6:00 p.m. (expanded hours)

Monday, November 25:3:00-5:00 p.m. (expanded hours)

Tuesday, November 26:12:15-2:00 p.m.

Prunty’s Pantry will be closed for the remainder of the week in conjunction with the college closure. It will reopen again for its traditional hours of operation on Tuesday, December 3.

In an effort to make sure patrons of the pantry can stock up with enough items to sustain themselves through the November Break period, the pantry is suspending its one-bag limit on items.

Office of Public Safety and Emergency Management

The Office of Public Safety and Emergency Management is open 24 hours a day year round. If you are experiencing an emergency or need immediate support, please contact Public Safety at (607) 274-3333.

Health Center

Student Health Services at the Hammond Health Center will be closed to in-person appointments during the November Break from Saturday, November 23, through Sunday, December 1. Administrative staff will be available during normal business hours (8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.) on Monday, November 25, and Tuesday, November 26, to respond to any non-clinical questions. The Health Center can be reached by email at IChealth@cayugahealth.org or by phone at (607) 274-3177.

Students remaining on campus for the break that are in need of clinical care should seek off-campus options. Please note that the college will not be offering its Medicar service during this period. If you are experiencing a medical emergency, please refer to the Emergencies and After Hours Care page for additional support.

Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS)

The Center for Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) will have normal hours of operation on Monday, November 25, and Tuesday, November 26, and will be available for both in-person and virtual appointments. Please note that CAPS is not licensed to host virtual appointments with any student that is not located within the borders of New York State at the time of the appointment.

CAPS will be closed on Wednesday, November 27, through Sunday, December 1, in conjunction with the college-wide closure for the Thanksgiving holiday. During this period, individuals are always able to utilize the CAPS After-Hours On-Call Service, which is available 24-hours a day, 365 days a year. To reach this service, please dial (607) 274-3136 and follow the prompts. This service is available to all individuals regardless of where they may be located. Students remaining on campus that are experiencing a life-threatening emergency should contact the Office of Public Safety at (607) 274-3333 for immediate assistance.

Campus Center

The Campus Center will have modified hours of operation beginning on Friday, November 22, and extending throughout the November Break. Please see the hours of operation below:

Friday, November 22:7:00 a.m. – 6:30 p.m.

Saturday, November 23 – Sunday, November 24:Closed

Monday, November 25 – Tuesday, November 26:7:00 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.

Wednesday, November 27 – Sunday, December 1:Closed

Regular hours of operation for the Campus Center will resume on Monday, December 2.

Fitness Center

The Fitness Center will close early at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, November 22, and will remain closed for the duration of the November Break Saturday, November 23, through Sunday, December 1.

It will resume its normal hours of operation on Monday, December 2.

The Ithaca College Library will have modified hours during the November Break.

Monday, November 25 – Tuesday, November 26:7:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

Wednesday, November 27 – Saturday, November 30:Closed

Office of Residential Life

All residence halls and on-campus apartments have break housing available during November (Thanksgiving) Break. If you are intending to remain on campus during the break you must fill out a November Break Housing Registration Form to let the Office of Residential Life know of your intention to stay in your assigned room during the break period. Deadline to register was 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 21.

Break housing begins at 12:00 p.m. (noon) on Saturday, November 23, and will extend through 12:00 p.m. (noon) on Sunday, December 1.

Limited services are available during break-housing periods. There will be a limited number of Residential Life staff present on campus to handle lock-outs and emergencies. Please refer to the duty schedule on the entrance doors to each building for information about the Resident Assistant (RA) covering your area of campus.

The Office of Residential Life will be closed in conjunction with the college closure on Wednesday, November 27, through Sunday, December 1.

Other Student Affairs and Campus Life Departments

Several departments in the Division of Student Affairs and Campus Life may have slight changes to their hours of operation or typical services during the November (Thanksgiving) Break. These include, but may not be limited to: Office of New Student and Transition Programs, BIPOC Unity Center, Student Accessibility Services, Center for LGBT Education, Outreach and Services, Office of Religious and Spiritual Life, Office of ICare and Student Support, and the Office of Student Engagement. Please note that all these offices will be closed Wednesday, November 27, through Sunday, December 1, in conjunction with the college closure.

Contact these offices directly if you have any questions about availability during the November Break. Departments will endeavor to respond as soon as possible.
