Writing Professor Katharyn Howd Machan Wins Bosque Arts Center Prizes

Professor of Writing, Katharyn Howd Machan, is the recipient of prizes in the three categories of the Annual Books on the Bosque Writing Contest based in Texas. Her essay "Ice" placed first, her short fiction "The Story of Graw" placed second, and her poem "Laura Pierce: Redwing 1888"placed third.

Katharyn is also this year’s winner in the annual Judd’s Hill Winery Poetry Contest with her sonnet “Above Atsitsa Bay,” inspired by her many visits to the Greek island of Skyros. Read more about the winery  here.
