West African Drumming and Dance Ensemble, directed by Dr Baruch J. Whitehead is an ensemble decdicated to exploring first-hand the exciting traditions of West African music by investigating specific musical styles and traditions directly on "authentic" African musical instruments. Social functions and analytical study of dance movements in ritual, ceremonial, religious, and recreational contexts are also explored. Join us this December to experience the final group performance of the semester!
