Apply Now! Financial Support Available for Students Needing Help to Buy Course Materials

The Student Emergency Relief Fund (SERF) is now accepting applications for financial support for course materials for the Spring 2025 semester. Students in need can apply for up to $300 in aid, which can be provided in two ways:

  1. Course Material Vouchers: These can be used exclusively for purchasing textbooks and other required materials through our preferred provider, Akademos, via IC's online bookstore.
  2. Direct Deposit: This can be used for materials not available through Akademos.

Applications are open from Wednesday, December 18th, until Wednesday, January 15th. The SERF committee will start reviewing applications on Monday, January 6th, prioritizing students who did not receive vouchers for the fall 2024 semester. The remaining funds will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis, with financial need also considered.

Important: An itemized list of materials with prices is required for consideration. If your required materials are not yet posted, please contact your professors for this information and indicate which materials cannot be purchased through the online bookstore.

If you have a list of materials totaling $300, even if it's not complete, please submit it! Vouchers will be awarded on a first-come, first-served basis.

If you do not submit an itemized list with your application, your request will be denied and you will be asked to re-submit!
