Announcing the Retirement of Charlie Sherman

Dear Campus Community:

It is with both admiration and gratitude that the Office of Public Safety announces the retirement of Charlie Sherman, effective Tuesday, January 14th. After a culmination of over four decades of dedicated service to local communities and Ithaca College, Charlie is embarking on a well-deserved retirement, filled with new adventures with his loved ones.

Charlie has been an integral member of the Environmental Health and Safety team for 10 years, having brought over three decades of municipal fire service and leadership experience to Ithaca College. Throughout his tenure, Charlie's steadfast commitment to the safety and well-being of students, staff, and faculty, coupled with his expertise and passion for fire safety, has made a lasting impact on our community. Charlie is widely known across campus for his reassuring smile and offering of kind words to those in need, leaving a positive impression on everyone he encountered. His presence on campus and in our office will be greatly missed.

Thank you, Charlie, for your unwavering dedication and service to our community. We wish you a happy and fulfilling retirement!
