Ithaca College President Shirley M. Collado was included in an article about the obstacles facing institutions of higher education published by Education Dive, which provides news and analysis for leaders in higher education.
Presidents from a variety of institutions, including the University of Maryland, Baltimore County; The College of St. Rose; and Dominican University of California; were interviewed as part of the roundup. Many of the colleges cited affordability, inclusivity, and enrollment declines as pressing challenges.
Collado highlighted the strategic plan, which aims to put the college on a path toward becoming a global destination for bold thinkers seeking to build thriving communities.
“Our plan identifies and leverages the potential of symbiotic interconnections that link so many aspects of our institution, from our enrollment and retention strategy to the development of cross-sector partnerships to expanding and innovating our financial model.”
