The local community is invited to grab a blanket or chair and head to DeWitt Park in downtown Ithaca for the Friends of Ithaca College Founder’s Day Concert in the Park. Scheduled for 2 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 15, the concert is free and open to the public.
The 32nd annual event will feature music by the Ithaca College Concert Band and Ithaca College Wind Ensemble, conducted by Benjamin Rochford and Daniel Cook, respectively. It will include works by Gershwin, Shostakovich, and Holst, ending with the traditional “Stars and Stripes Forever” by John Philip Sousa.
This concert is made possible through the inspiration of and support from Beverly Baker '54.
In the event of bad weather, the concert will move to Ford Hall in the James J. Whalen Center for Music on the Ithaca College campus. Any change in location will be posted on the Friends of Ithaca College website.
