Just ahead of the historic 2019 Cortaca Jug football game, the “biggest little game in the nation” made it into the pages of one of the nation’s biggest newspapers, The New York Times.
Comparing the Ithaca College-SUNY Cortland competition to some of college football’s biggest rivalries, like Michigan-Ohio State, the Times highlighted the game’s move to MetLife Stadium for 2019, where it is set to break the record for attendance at a Division III football game. Bombers head coach Dan Swanstrom told the paper that holding the game in an NFL stadium was the right move.
“I’ve heard everything you could ever imagine coming off that field, every suggestion, every single play call, every single detail has been questioned, but this has not been questioned,” he said.
